“I was a nanny in Singapore but didn’t see myself working with children forever, so the Community Health Worker job was perfect for me. I took the Drake Medox program and got my diploma in 2004. The instruction was really good and everything was so clearly explained that it was very easy to learn the program. I work full time with Drake Medox, and they are an excellent company to work for. I mostly work in the homes of people and enjoy the work and just love working with the elderly… I really love it!”

FAQ

Can I bridge to an LPN or RN program?

Your RCA/Community Health Worker training is a valuable stepping stone for a career in nursing. However, please check with the school or institution you are thinking of attending as to the ability to transfer credits.

Can I transfer credits to the RCA program from another institution?

If you were trained elsewhere in healthcare, for example as a nurse outside of Canada, we offer you a “Prior Learning Assessment”. We use this assessment to decide if you qualify for the “ACCELERATED Program”.

Is the RCA Diploma recognized in other regions or provinces or countries?

The Drake Medox RCA/Community Health Worker Diploma Program is accredited by The Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) of BC. Graduates have the skills to be Community Health Workers in other jurisdictions, however there are no national standards for this program, so you will have to check with the jurisdiction in question about requirements for employment.

What is your graduate placement rate?

100% of graduates are offered casual employment with our sister organization, Drake Medox Health Services (Vancouver) Inc.
